Functioning interdependently with members of the multidisciplinary team, assesses the needs of adult and pediatric patients requiring care in the Emergency Department.Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS: •Current Certificate of Competence from College of Nurse of Ontario •Minimum of one year current nursing experience to include: -Blood and Blood Products Administration -Urinary and Gastric Catheter Insertion -Glucose Point of Care Testing -Management of Patients with Intravenous Therapy •BCLS •Minimum of one year experience in an Emergency/Critical Care Setting and who demonstrates competency in: -Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation -Venipuncture to initiate IV Therapy -Advanced IV Medication Administration to include direct IV Administration and Special IV Infusions such as Inotropes -Application of Energy to include Defibrillation and Transthoracic Pacing •Successfully completed one or more of the following certificate programs/courses: -ACLS -PALS -TNCC/ETLS -Triage -Physical Assessment -Cardiac Arrhythmia •Good attendance record
