HOURS OF WORK: 7.5 and 11.25 Hour Shifts- Days and Evenings Monday to Saturday plus standby May be required to provide coverage in The Progressive Hemodialysis Unit (PHU)
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, and supportive care to the hemodialysis patient. Working with patients on a long-term basis while demonstrating knowledge of care for the chronic kidney disease patient. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
• Current Certificate of Competence and membership in good standing - College of Nurses of Ontario • Current hemodialysis experience in acute and chronic settings preferred • Consideration will be given to interested RNs with medical/surgical experience • Progression toward certification in Nephrology Nursing within two years preferred, Canadian Nurses Association • BCLS • Certification in Blood Bank administration, IV Drug Therapy, Hemodialysis Access Management and hemodialysis machine operation preferred • Organizational skills demonstrated by ability to care for multiple chronic and acutely ill hemodialysis patients • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative care environment • Ability to interact with interdisciplinary team • Good attendance record
