    Temporary Full Time Device Analyst
    For approximately 18 Months


    Monday to Friday- occasional weekends and evenings as required

    Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Device Analyst will be a member of a team of technology professionals focused on the successful planning and delivery of technology solutions supporting the HIS renewal initiative. The Device Analyst is expected to use their knowledge of deploying and supporting end user computing devices and related peripherals to lead the roll out of an upgraded computing environment throughout the hospital.

    • Supports the Technical Manager as the lead end user device expert for all work associated with the implementation and adoption of the new enterprise health information solution
    • Acts as the primary contact with vendors for end user device activities
    • Responsible for the development and implementation of processes for evaluation of potential devices for new system
    • Undertakes the evaluation of capabilities of current end user fleet, and documentation of gaps that need to be addressed for new system
    • Recommends additional end user devices as required for new system
    • Coordinates the procurement, staging and deployment of end user devices to support the new system
    • Completion of documentation for all assigned work streams
    • Single point of contact/liaison with GRH desktop support to facilitate receiving, image development, device imaging, facilities requirement, and deployment of devices



    • Undergraduate degree or community college diploma in an information technology or health related field

    • At least 5 years demonstrated experience with supporting and administering end user computing environments, including desktop and laptop computers, networked and dedicated printers, bar code scanners, document scanners, card readers
    • Demonstrated experience leading computing environment upgrades and deployments involving equipment procurement, staging, imaging, testing and installation, remote desktop administration and software upgrades
    • Specific experience in a healthcare setting, including an understanding of biomedical devices and the impact of infection prevention and control on the selection and deployment of end user devices is desirable
    • Industry Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, A+, ITILv3, Citrix or equivalent are desirable
    • Ability to relate to individuals and manage stakeholder expectations
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills and group processes to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
    • Effective presentation skills and report writing
    • Demonstrated initiative, independent thinking and creative problem solving
    • Critical thinking and decision making
    • Conflict management skills
    • Demonstrated knowledge and application of project management theory
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite including MS Word, Excel, MS Project, MS Visio and SharePoint
