    POSITION:
     Temporary Full Time Social Worker – MSW until March 21, 2021


    HOURS OF WORK:
     Monday – Friday, 7.5 hour shifts

     

    JOB SUMMARY: 
    Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services, you will work with our inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary services.
     
    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Provides psychosocial and family system assessment, treatment recommendations, referral and discharge planning for patients in response to the unique and complex needs of this population 
    • Actively involved in family education initiatives aimed at enhancing coping and reducing distress
    • Works effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team in establishing and monitoring processes, improving continuity of care for patients, and enhancing collaborative relationships with other care providers
    • Participates in service committees and quality improvement initiatives as required
    • Engages in professional development and continuing education
    • Assists with program development and evaluation as required Participates in team building, service development and improvement activities striving to contribute to a healthy workplace environment
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: 
    • Master of Social Work degree with registration in good standing with OCSWSSW
    • Recent experience in outpatient, crisis services and/or emergency is preferred
    • Demonstrated assessment, counseling, case management, and discharge planning skills
    • Ability to work independently, as well as within a multidisciplinary team
    • Demonstrated skills in a variety of clinical modalities including individual, marital, family and group
    • Excellent clinical skills in community service coordination in engaging, assessing and actively linking individuals with community services and programs
    • Proven ability to work effectively with other health care providers and community service and school board providers
    • Excellent organizational, prioritization and problem-solving abilities
    • Proven to have strong interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills
    • Good attendance record
