    POSITION: Temporary Unscheduled  Part-Time Admin Secretary 7 until July 6, 2020

     

    HOURS OF WORK: 7.5 Hour Shifts

     

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Administrative Secretary's position reports and provides administrative secretarial support to the Joint Laboratory Administrative Director, Joint Medical Director and Chief of Laboratories and provides support to the Physicians and Laboratory Managers at both Grand River Hospital (GRH) and St. Mary's General Hospital (SMGH).   Daily tasks include organizing, scheduling, and calendar management as well as creation of associated agendas and recorded minutes.  Additional administrative tasks include payroll submission, laboratory license administration, invoicing, and development of correspondence, facility work orders, general purchasing and inventory management.


    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Two year Community College diploma required – preferably an Office Administrative – Executive diploma with a focus on health care, or five years related work experience
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a laboratory administrative environment supporting management and senior leadership team members
    • Scheduling experience
    • Expense management experience
    • Excellent typing skills required
    • Minute taking experience
    • Experience with laboratory licensing
    • Experience with document support for QPulse
    • Experience with invoicing
    • Medical Terminology required preferably pathology and laboratory specialized
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Visio, Outlook
    • Previous experience with Petal MD, and CoPath an asset
    • Previous laboratory experience an asset
    • Must be able to work quickly and accurately
    • Maintain confidentiality
    • Must be able to perform calmly under pressure and remain pleasant to patients and fellow workers
    • Good attendance record
    • Ability to adapt and support multiple committees as an organizer and maintenance of records
